The TL/DR: Representment is when a merchant disputes a cardholder’s claim of a fraudulent charge, and can provide compelling evidence to support this. When the merchant submits a transaction to receive the funds from the bank, this is called “presentment.” Chargebacks reverse the presentment process at the cardholder’s request. So “representment” is the re-submission of a merchant’s disputed presentment. Click here for the internet’s best explanation of representment.
